Toyota Motor Philippines Corporation (TMP) recently launched the all new Hilux FX last April 6, 2009. As an answer to its customer’s business and hauling needs, Toyota makes use of the Hilux’ agile frame by installing a rear deck which can accommodate more passengers and cargo. The launch of the new Hilux FX will further reinforce the company’s number one position in the commercial vehicle (CV) segment.

The Hilux takes pride in its tough qualities and its fuel efficiency. During the Department of Energy Fuel Economy Run in 2008, it garnered 19.2 kilometers per liter. The Hilux also features the D-4D engine and Toyota Outstanding Performance (TOP) Platform, similar to the Fortuner and Innova.

The D-4D type engine is a common-rail diesel engine that is able to supply high-pressurized injections at all speed levels, controlled by a 32-bit ECU giving you increased power, better combustion resulting in better fuel efficiency coupled with less vibration and noise in its dynamic 2.5L engine displacement.

The Toyota Outstanding Performance (TOP) Platform is a tough ensemble of the highly-rigid frame chassis and individual front suspension for optimum driving stability, maximum support and superior riding comfort. The TOP Platform becomes more functional with other deck options offered for the Hilux FX, customized to fit various requirements.

The power and versatility of the diesel vehicle is maximized, with Hilux FX’s seating capacity of up to 15 passengers – 12 at the back and 3 in front or a maximum loadable weight of 1,000 kilograms. The rear air-condition system with independent controls and the rear foldable seats for more space are provided for convenience. In addition, the Hilux FX also features a 2 DIN CD Audio Player with MP3 and AUX functions, a large access window that links the front and rear cabins, a 60/ 40 split for the back door, and a step bumper for more ease.

The Hilux FX is offered either with rear air-condition at P840,000 or without air-condition at P810,000. Hilux cab and chassis for other deck options are also available.
