Honda Cars Philippines, Inc. (HCPI) recently named the winning CR-V shots at the opening of its photo exhibit in Alabang Town Center.

Honda, in cooperation with Canon Marketing Philippines, organized an automotive photography workshop among Club EOS members for better appreciation of car design and styling. Under the guidance of master photographer John Chua, participants learned key techniques in capturing the car’s most complementing lines and over-all premium finish.

The 2010 Honda CR-V was the chosen subject of the workshop. With its new front grille design, refreshed bumpers, modern alloy wheel designs and clear-cut lines, the photography workshop aimed to creatively capture the more refined yet tougher look of the CR-V.

More than just styling, the CR-V is environment-friendly too. The CR-V, just line any other Honda models, has cleaner exhaust emissions that meet the stringent EURO 4 levels, even if Philippine regulations only require EURO 2.

To bring out these key strengths of the CR-V, Honda challenged the participants to creatively work on the themes ‘Sophistication and Refinement’ and ‘In Harmony with Nature.’

The photograph that best captured the CR-V’s urbane styling was shot by Mr. Aris Satorre. “The Mediterranean-inspired backdrop blended well with the CR-V’s stylish color, Urban Titanium. I also highlighted the contour of the vehicle and matched it with the lines of the surroundings.” said Mr. Satorre.“ When asked about his inspirations in photography, he replied “I put my heart and full effort every time I am taking photographs. My faith and my whole family inspire me in capturing the best shots of my life.”

Meanwhile, Mr. Tynn Daez bested the entries under the environment theme. He took a photo of the CR-V in a rustic setting, surrounded by lush trees and horses enjoying the fresh green grass.

“When we first organized this car photography workshop, we just wanted to unleash another type of photography, other than landscapes and portraits. We thought of having this specialized type of workshop for viewing pleasure of car designs. But eventually, we realized that this was more than a workshop. More than fueling one’s passion in photography and cars, this activity has led to new insights, friendship and inspiration to master one’s craft.” said Mr. Hiroshi Shimizu, President and General Manager of HCPI.

The CR-V photo exhibit will soon hit Honda’s 27 dealerships nationwide. For updates on display schedule, please visit www.hondaphil.com.
